As arts and culture are woven into our social fabric, so do creative people initiate partnerships to weave our cultural heritage into the economic, educational, and civic infrastructures of our cities, towns and neighborhoods. Creative people find innovative ways to use the arts and culture to develop businesses and enliven business districts. They use the arts to inspire young people to learn and thrive at school and in their families and communities, to engender lifelong learning and bring joy to the healing process, and to enhance the built environment and the quality of life for all. -Culture Builds Florida’s Future ©2005 At the Community Arts Connection of South Lake we feel a growing need to actively promote the arts and cultural events to help build a stronger community by stimulating the growth of businesses in the area; encouraging the participation of the wealth of local talent; and to providing creative opportunities, artistic outlets, and cultural events in all aspects of the arts - theatre, music, dance, and visual art. Our goal is to provide unique opportunities and a venue for all of the residents of the South Lake community and the surrounding areas to become involved in all aspects of the arts - theatre, music, dance, and visual art. Our Vision, while very specific in defining where we will start our areas of focus, it remains broad enough to guide us as we move forward and develop all aspects of the arts. Our Vision is to create a community arts and cultural organization based on We will do this by producing first-class live theatre; promoting the development of original plays from writing to production; providing innovative, theatre arts educational programs for adults, youth, and children; and by perpetuating an awareness and appreciation of, and involvement in other forms of artistic creativity. |
